BIO

Beverley got her first camera in the 80's, a Canon AE-1, when her love for photography first began as a young teen.

" I've always been interested in photography from the time I could hold a camera in my hand. I was taken with the thought of how to capture 'moments' on film.  I love taking photos of people, wildlife, nature, and anything that inspires me."

Beverley lives in New Brunswick, Canada with her 2 dogs.

What's in the Camera Bag?

For her images, Beverley uses the Canon EOS system, with a variety of Canon Lenses. When out shooting her images, she carries a variety of graduated and reverse graduated neutral density filters from Singh-Ray to control the extreme contrasts of light. For film of choice, she prefers Kodak E100VS & Fuji Velvia for nature, and either Kodak E100G or Fuji Astia for portraits. For stability and sharpness in her images, she carries a Manfrotto Tripod and head. For any product/object shots, she sometimes uses Extension Tubes when the need arises for a 'closer' look.

Recently in 2005, she has purchased a professional digital camera and now shoots mostly digital images. The ability to view images instantly along with the hands on development of the images on the computer (digital darkroom) allows her to quickly develop and have the image/images printed for the client much sooner than traditional film. Even though she is using digital, she still keeps her film camera as a backup and for anyone wishing to have photos shot on film.

"The art of photography is a form for one to express themselves in how they 'see' life. Everyday we see images with our eyes that inspire or move us. But most times these moments are lost in our busy world. To capture some of those moments on film is to evoke the emotions that once enhanced our lives. That is my 'art' and 'emotion' of my world."
